Drainage user fee plans halted

The tax proposed to help generate $850,000 to improve drainage services in rural upland areas of Abbotsford is on hold for this year at least. A group of rural Abbotsford residents are work with the city to get a proposed rural upland drainage fee taken off the table for good.


New rural ratepayers' association was formed in response to the city's proposed drainage fee by rural residents of Abbotsford to represent their interests. The fee was supposed to be $19.10 per acre.
